Netflix has unveiled the trailer for His & Hers, a six-episode psychological thriller that places Jon Bernthal and Tessa Thompson at the centre of a tense, twisting investigation, one in which the estranged spouses can’t decide whether to trust each other or accuse each other.
The limited series is adapted from Alice Feeney’s 2020 novel and comes from Fifth Season. William Oldroyd and Dee Johnson serve as co-showrunners, with Thompson also joining the executive producer lineup alongside Oldroyd, Johnson, Kristen Campo (Campout Productions), Jessica Chastain and Kelly Carmichael (Freckle Films), and Kishori Rajan (Viva Maude).
Set against the oppressive heat of Atlanta, His & Hers follows Anna (Thompson), who has withdrawn from both her job as a news anchor and the people in her life. Her isolation is interrupted when she hears about a killing in Dahlonega, the quiet town she once called home. The case jolts her back into action, pulling her into a dangerous search for answers.
Detective Jack Harper (Bernthal), meanwhile, grows increasingly wary of her sudden involvement. His suspicion becomes the pulse of their uneasy dynamic. In one exchange, Jack tells Anna, “I didn’t hurt her, Anna. Do you know who did it?” She counters, “I didn’t do it, if that’s what you’re asking.”
Netflix's official description of the psycho thriller series reads, "Two estranged spouses—one a cop, the other a news reporter—compete to solve a murder case in which each believes the other is a prime suspect."
Joining Bernthal and Thompson in the ensemble are Pablo Schreiber, Crystal Fox, Sunita Mani, Rebecca Rittenhouse, Marin Ireland and Poppy Liu.
His & Hers premieres on Netflix on January 8, 2026.
