Actor Angelina Jolie is reportedly planning to leave US and relocate to a new country once her youngest children Knox and Vivienne turn 18. According to a People magazine report, the actor is preparing to put her Los Angeles home on the market ahead of the move.
The decision comes after years of custody battle and divorce-related issues with her ex-husband Brad Pitt. "Jolie never wanted to live in L.A. full-time. She didn't have a choice because of the custody arrangement with her ex-husband Brad Pitt," the source said to People.
Jolie is currently living in her Cecil B DeMille estate in Los Feliz which she purchased back in 2017 for $24.5 million. The sprawling 11,000-square-foot property has six bedrooms and 10 bathrooms.
Pitt and Jolie have six children together including Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Knox and Vivienne. Their divorce was settled last year in December. With the former couple's arrangement now settled, Jolie is eyeing several locations abroad to move permanently.
"When you have a big family, you want them to have privacy, peace, safety. I have a house now to raise my children, but sometimes this place can be... that humanity that I found across the world is not what I grew up with here," she said in an earlier interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
Jolie is not the first Hollywood A-lister to have plans of moving abroad. Show host and comedian Jimmy Kimmel recently revealed he had obtained Italian citizenship. Fellow comedian and actor Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi relocated to England's Cotswolds in 2024. Rosie O'Donnell moved to Ireland while Richard Gere had also announced his decision to move to Spain.
On the work front, Angelina Jolie is set to reunite with Doug Liman for high-stakes spy thriller The Initiative, nearly two decades after their blockbuster hit Mr. and Mrs. Smith.
