Production is officially underway on Vought Rising, the latest prequel to Prime Video’s hit superhero satire The Boys. As the series is preparing to go on floors, four new faces have joined the ensemble: Jorden Myrie (Bridgerton), Nicolò Pasetti (Industry), Ricky Staffieri (The Bear), and Brian J Smith (Sense8).

The series will once again feature Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash, who reprise their roles as Soldier Boy and Stormfront (aka Clara Vought), respectively. Set in the 1950s, Vought Rising is described as a dark, twisted murder mystery that digs into the origins of Vought International and the early days of supes in American history.

Paul Grellong serves as showrunner and executive producer, with The Boys creator Eric Kripke also on board as an executive producer. They are joined by a powerhouse production team that includes Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, Neal H Moritz, Ori Marmur, Pavun Shetty, Ken Levin, Jason Netter, Garth Ennis, Darick Robertson, Michaela Starr, and Jim Barnes. Both Ackles and Cash also hold producer credits on the series.

Ordered to series in July 2024, Vought Rising marks the third expansion of The Boys universe, following the college-set Gen V and the animated anthology The Boys Presents: Diabolical.

While plot details and character specifics for the newly announced cast remain tightly under wraps, previously confirmed series regulars Will Hochman and Elizabeth Posey are expected to play pivotal roles. Additionally, Mason Dye, who will appear as Bombsight in the upcoming fifth and final season of The Boys, may also feature in Vought Rising.

The series is a collaboration between Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios, in association with Kripke Enterprises.
