Will Hochman, known for his work on Blue Bloods, has been confirmed as a new addition to the cast of Vought Rising, Amazon's forthcoming prequel series to The Boys.
Hochman will join the previously announced principal actors, Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash, in the series, which received a formal order from Prime Video in July 2024. Additionally, as per a previous report on Variety, Mason Dye, who is set to appear as Bombsight in the fifth season of The Boys, may also feature in Vought Rising.
Specifics regarding Hochman's character are being withheld. Vought Rising is characterised as a "complex murder mystery" set in the 1950s. Ackles will reprise his role as Soldier Boy, and Cash will return as Stormfront, also known as Clara Vought. Production is anticipated to commence later in the year.
Hochman recently completed a five-season run on the popular CBS series Blue Bloods, portraying Joe Hill. He also held a recurring role opposite Billy Crystal and Judith Light in the Apple TV+ production Before. His film credits include The Greatest Beer Run Ever, Let Him Go, and Critical Thinking. He is slated to appear next in The Cycle alongside Deborah Ann Woll and Jeffrey Donovan.
Paul Grellong, an executive producer of The Boys, will assume the role of showrunner and executive producer for Vought Rising.
Eric Kripke, the creative force behind The Boys, will also serve as an executive producer through Kripke Enterprises. Additional executive producers include Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and James Weaver of Point Grey Pictures; Neal H Moritz and Pavun Shetty of Original Film; and Ori Marmur, Ken Levin, Jason Netter, Garth Ennis, Darick Robertson, and Michaela Starr. The series will be produced by Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios.
