Actor Robert Pattinson is being eyed to star in Denis Villeneuve's Dune: Messiah, the third part in the Dune Franchise.

Villeneuve is currently wrapping up the script for Dune 3 which is scheduled to shoot during summer. But there has been no confirmation on his casting, but speculations are rife that he would portray the villain Scytale.

If confirmed, it would be the third time he would be teaming up with Zendaya after their collaboration on The Drama, written and directed by Kristoffer Borgli which is yet to be released. The star cast of Dune 3 also stars Timothée Chalamet, Florence Pugh, and Austin Butler. Recently, Jason Momoa confirmed his involvement in the film. He is expected to reprise his role as Duncan Idaho.

Pattinson is currently filming for Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey which stars an ensemble cast including Zendaya, Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Lupita Nyong'o, Robert Pattinson, and Charlize Theron. He also stars in Warner Bros’ The Batman, with a sequel set to release in 2027.

The third film in the Dune franchise will be based on Frank Herbert's Dune: Messiah. Herbert's Dune was adapted by Denis Villeneuve into two films, Dune (2021) and Dune: Part Two (2024).
