A few months after the completion of production on Slow Horses season 5, Apple TV+ has renewed the Gary Oldman starrer series for another season. Mick Herron’s books Joe Country and Slough House will form the basis for the upcoming season. In it, Kristin Scott Thomas’s character Diana Taverner involves the spies in a game of revenge and retaliation, and they try to evade her.

The show won BAFTA award nominations for Jack Lowden and Oldman, besides earning screenwriter Will Smith a Primetime Emmy. It follows the adventures of Oldman’s character Jackson Lamb, the boss of Slough House, and his relegated colleagues from the MI5. Jonathan Pryce, Hugo Weaving, and Joanna Scanlan are also part of the cast.

Oldman serves as an executive producer on the See-Saw Films production, alongside Jamie Laurenson, Hakan Kousetta, Julian Stevens, Iain Canning, Emile Sherman, Adam Randall, Gail Mutrux, and Douglas Urbanski. The makers are yet to announce a release date for Slow Horses season 5, but Apple TV+ is likely to premiere it early next year.
