Prime Video has greenlit Silent River, a new thriller drama series starring and executive produced by John Krasinski (Jack Ryan) and Matthew Rhys (The Americans). The series, created by Aaron Rabin, will explore the lives of two men in small-town America whose unexpected connection comes to light amidst the discovery of a serial killer in their community.

Krasinski, known for his work in Jack Ryan, will direct the pilot and additional episodes. Rabin will serve as an executive producer alongside Andrew Bernstein, who will also direct. Bernstein previously collaborated with Krasinski on Jack Ryan and directed Rhys in episodes of The Americans.

Silent River strengthens the partnership between Krasinski’s production company, Sunday Night, and Amazon MGM Studios. Sunday Night recently extended its first-look deal with the studio. Krasinski, Allyson Seeger, and Alexa Ginsburg will executive produce for Sunday Night, while Rabin and Bernstein join them as executive producers.

Krasinski’s directorial success includes the A Quiet Place franchise, which he co-wrote, directed, and starred in. He recently released IF for Paramount, where he served as writer, producer, and director.

Rhys, a celebrated Emmy winner for his role in The Americans, has been busy with several high-profile projects. He recently wrapped Towards Zero, a BritBox and BBC1 adaptation of an Agatha Christie novel, and is filming Netflix’s The Beast in Me opposite Claire Danes. Rhys also stars in the upcoming feature Hallow Road alongside Rosamund Pike.

Bernstein, known for directing acclaimed series such as Ozark and The Diplomat, has also helmed HBO’s Welcome to Derry and served as executive producer and director on The Nevers. Rabin, meanwhile, has been gaining traction with his work on Jack Ryan and upcoming features like Nobody 2 for Universal.
