Sony Pictures unveiled the trailer of Harold And The Purple Crayon, on Wednesday. The live-action adaptation of a 1955 children's book by Crockett Johnson, the film stars Zachary Levi of Shazam! fame in the lead.

It follows a four-year-old kid with an extraordinary imagination who crafts a world through the magical powers of a purple crayon. The book's immense popularity led to multiple adaptations including animated shorts and television series.

Lil Rel Howery, Benjamin Bottani, Tanya Reynolds, Zooey Deschanel, Jemaine Clement, Tanya Reynolds, Alfred Molina, and Ravi Patel round out the cast of Harold And The Purple Crayon.

Harold And The Purple Crayon marks the live-action directorial debut of Carlos Saldanha. The film's screenplay is penned by David Guion and Michael Handelman.

Columbia Pictures and Davis Entertainment have bankrolled Harold And The Purple Crayon which will be presented by Sony Pictures. The film is slated to release on August 2.
