Amazon MGM Studios is all set to back Rudy Mancuso's Stand-In, which he is set to direct and compose the original soundtrack for. Along with Dan Lagana, Mancuso will also write the script for the film, which is from a story by Andy Muschietti. 

Stand-In will revolve around a titular character, who, out of his Hollywood-obsession, takes up the opportunity to shine after a the actor he stands in for disappears due to a series of events. Rudy Mancuso, Marianna Mancuso, and Lagana are also the film's executive producers, while Andy and Barbara Muschietti are producers. 

Mancuso and Lagana has previously collaborated for Amazon's coming-of-age romantic comedy, Música, starring Mancuso and Camilla Mendes. The film, which premiere on Prime Video in April, was helmed by Mancuso from a script by Lagana. The former also composed the music for the film. 

Mancuso is a self-taught musician who has previously released an Instrumental album, and performed at the Hollywood Bowl for Disney/Pixar’s Coco Live-To-Film Concert Experience, in addition to opening for Justin Bieber on his Purpose World Tour. The puppet comedy series Awkward Puppets is also created by Mancuso.
