A sequel to the One Tree Hill series is in development at Netflix. According to reports, One Tree Hill stars Hilarie Burton, Danneel Ackles, and Sophia Bush will serve as its executive producers. Burton and Bush are set to play their characters from the original, namely Peyton Sawyer and Brooke Davis, respectively. On the other hand, Ackles is in negotiations to reprise her character, Rachel Gatina. The makers are yet to confirm whether the other cast members of the original show will also reprise their roles in its followup.

The WB and the CW broadcast One Tree Hill for nine consecutive seasons. The series also stars Chad Michael Murray, James Lafferty, Bethany Joy Lenz, Paul Johansson, and Lee Norris.

Set in a fictional town called Tree Hill, it follows the conflict between half-brothers Nathan (Lafferty) and Lucas (Murray). When their lives start to intertwine and love for basketball bring them together, the series becomes a tale of relationships, friendships, and family.
