Maitreyi Ramakrishnan hits back at "racist trolls" on rumours of she playing Rapunzel in Tangled

She said it is her dream to land the Rapunzel role and no one can stop from trying for it

Actress Maitreyi Ramakrishnan gave a charged responds to trolls over rumours of she getting cast as Rapunzel in Tangled.

The actress who is popular for her role in Netflix series Never Have I Ever, broke her silence over the rumours of she being cast as Rapunzel and the trolls that came in response.

In her X handle, the actress wrote, "and they finally woke up to realize it was all just rumours and the sources never existed. good job! and to the racists, y’all still need a hobby fr."

Maitreyi was referring to trolls that said the actress being a South Asian cannot be cast as Rapunzel and only a blonde woman can.

Following up on her post, she slammed the trolls saying they "can just stay basement dweller."

In another post she said Rapunzel is her dream role as she had said in 2021 and went on to say, "no one's gonna stop me from literally just TRYING to achieve my dreams. def not racists who are internet historians hahahaha."

Maitreyi's stern response to the trolls may finally settle the dust over this issue in social media for the past few days.
