Nine years after the first instalment of Kingsman: The Secret Service was released, the film franchise continues to garner a tremendous fan base across the globe. 

Directed by Matthew Vaughn from a screenplay by Jane Goldman and Vaughn, the movie also has a sequel titled Kingsman: The Golden Circle, which was released in 2017 and a prequel, The King's Man which was released in 2021.

The movie centres on Taron Egerton's character Gary "Eggsy" Unwin being hired by Colin Firth's character Harry Hart to join the Kingsman, a secret spy organisation. 

At the recent New York Comic-Con, director Matthew Vaughn disclosed that Daniel Kaluuya and John Boyega, two more brilliant British up-and-comers, were also competing for the starring role of Gary "Eggsy" Unwin.

He also said that a sequel to his 2017 spy action film Kingsman: The Golden Circle is also under development. 

After being passed up for the Kingsman role, Kaluuya forged an incredible career path for himself. He received his first Academy Award nomination for his role as Fred Hampton, the leader of the Black Panther Party, in the Oscar-winning horror movie Get Out, and went on to win the award for that role in Judas and the Black Messiah.

He also had a supporting role in Marvel's Black Panther. His most recent acting performance was in Jordan Peele's Nope.

Boyega played Finn in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. In two more Star Wars sequels, The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker, he played the same character again. Then, in the recently released Netflix movie They Cloned Tyrone, he had a critically acclaimed performance.
