HBO boards Alex Gibney’s Elon Musk doc

Alex Gibney won an Academy Award for Taxi to the Dark Side, which told the story of an Afghan driver killed by American soldiers

Previously, we reported that the Oscar and Emmy-winning documentary filmmaker Alex Gibney is set to helm a documentary about Elon Musk, the multi-billionaire CEO of Tesla, SpaceX and Twitter. HBO Documentary Films has now boarded the documentary, titled Musk

Musk is said to be definitively and without varnish, examine the controversial headline-making CEO of Tesla, SpaceX and Twitter. Gibney’s Jigsaw Productions is backing the film alongside Closer Media, Anonymous Content and Double Agent. 

Meanwhile, Alex Gibney is best known for his works that captured Julian Assange's Wikileaks and Russian President Vladimir Putin. His notable credits include The Inventor: Out for Blood in Silicon ValleyWe Steal Secrets: The Story of Wikileaks and Citizen K, among others.
