Filmmaker Sam Raimi, who directed the 2009 horror film Drag Me to Hell, recently revealed that the film's potential sequel is in the early stage of development.

According to Collider, he said, "The team at Ghost House Pictures: Romel Adam and Jose Canas, are trying to come up with a story that would work, and I'm anxious to hear if they do!"

It may be noted that Drag Me to Hell starred Alison Lohman, Justin Long, Lorna Raver, Dileep Rao, David Paymer, and Adriana Barraza. The film follows a loan officer, Christine. The story unfolds with a series of events that happen after she denies a mortgage to an elderly woman to prove to her boss that she can take critical decisions. And she is cursed by the woman, endangering her soul with eternity in hell. Meanwhile, the film also grossed well at the box office and was also premiered at the Cannes Film Festival.
