Netflix released the trailer of Luther: The Fallen Sun, the upcoming crime drama which will serve as continuation to the television series by the same name. Luther: The Fallen Sun will make its debut on Netflix in March 2023. 

According to the makers, Luther: The Fallen Sun is an epic continuation of the award-winning television saga reimagined for film. It os about a gruesome serial killer who is terrorizing London while brilliant but disgraced detective John Luther (Idris Elba) sits behind bars. Haunted by his failure to capture the cyber psychopath who now taunts him, Luther decides to break out of prison to finish the job by any means necessary.

Luther: The Fallen Sun stars Idris Elba as detective chief John Luther. Along with him, the film will also feature Cynthia Erivo, Andy Serkis, Dermot Crowley among others. It is directed by Jamie Payne, with the screenplay written by Neil Cross. BBC Studios and Chernin Entertainment are backing Luther: The Fallen Sun.
