We had earlier reported that a spin-off series of Money Heist, Berlin, following the titular character, is in the making. In an update, Netflix announced that the series is set to premiere on the streaming platform in December.

The makers also released a teaser sort of video, featuring the titular character examining a ruby gem, as he is looking forward to plan a heist.

The series will feature Pedro Alonso, who played jewel thief Andrés de Fonollosa or Berlin, in the Money Heist series. Along with him, the series will also feature Michelle Jenner, Tristan Ulloa, Julio Pena Fernandez, Joel Sanchez, Begona Vargas, among others.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, creators Esther Martinez Lobato and Alex Pina, who made Money Heist, said, "We loved the idea of introducing a new gang around Berlin in a completely different emotional state."

The duo also wrote the eight episodes of the first season, along with David Oliva and David Berrocal. Albert Pintó, Barrocal and Geoffrey Cowper are directing.
