Hulu has released the first official trailer for their upcoming Hellraiser reboot. The supernatural horror franchise began with the 1987 British film of the same name. The film went on to spawn four theatrical films, six straight-to-home films, and several comic books.

The 2022 reboot will be directed by David Brucker based on a screenplay written by the writing duo Ben Collins and Luke Piotrowski. The director-writers combo had previously collaborated on Siren and The Night House. The screenplay is adapted from an original story idea written by The Dark Knight trilogy fame David S Goyer.

Hellraiser, originally adapted from the 1986 novel Hellbound Heart by Clive Barker, revolves around a group of sadistic extra-dimensional beings called the Cenobites, who come to earth and wreak havoc. Jamie Clayton will play the role of the iconic, central antagonist of the film Pinhead while Odessa A'zion plays Riley, a young drug addict who comes across an ancient puzzle box that could summon the Cenobites to earth.

The film also stars Brandon Flynn, Goran Višnjić, Drew Starkey, Adam Faison, Aoife Hinds, Selina Lo, and Hiam Abbass. Distributed by Disney Platform Distribution, The film is currently scheduled to release on 7 October.
