Mindhunter star Holt McCallany on board Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning

The new film will be the eighth title in the spy thriller franchise which follows the journey of agent Ethan Hunt

Actor Holt McCallany, known for starring in Mindhunter, has joined the cast of Tom Cruise's Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Two. He joins an ensemble cast that also includes Hayley Atwell, Shea Whigham and Pom Klementieff. 

The new film will be the eighth title in the spy thriller franchise which follows the journey of agent Ethan Hunt. Director Christopher McQuarrie, who is helming Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One that's scheduled to release next year, is also helming the sequel. In the new film, McCallany will play Secretary of Defense Bernstein.

Cruise and McQuarrie are producing the film along with Paramount Pictures and Skydance. David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Don Granger and Chris Brock are also onboard as executive producers. 

After multiple changes in release dates for both the films, it's now confirmed that Part One is now set for a July 14, 2023 release while Part Two will hit screens on June 28, 2024.
