The makers of John Wick 4 unveiled their first teaser trailer at San Diego Comic-Con. The film, which stars Keanu Reeves as the stoic assassin John Wick, is set for a theatrical release on 24 March 2023.

The film picks up directly after the events of John Wick 3 where the assassin is last seen betrayed by his allies and forced to go on the run once again. The franchise, based on characters created by Derek Kolstad, started as a simple revenge story but later spiralled into an epic fight between one man against a network of highly sophisticated, underground assassins.

The film not only revived the gunslinger-action genre but also Keanu Reeves’ career. Chad Stahelski, who directed all the previous John Wick films, is returning to direct the fourth instalment in the series. Apart from Keanu Reeves in the lead, the film also brings back Lance Riddick, Ian McShane, and Laurence Fishburne’s ‘Bowery King’ character from the earlier films. Joining them will be Donnie Yen, Shamier Anderson, Bill Skarsgård, Rina Sawayama, Hiroyuki Sanada, Scott Adkins, and Clancy Brown,

It was earlier announced that a spinoff based on the world of John Wick, titled Ballerina, with Ana De Armas as the lead, was under production. Promising Young Woman’s Emerald Fennell is reportedly on board to write the spin-off.
