Kiara Advani signs coming-of-age comedy Indoo Ki Jawani

Expected to go on floors in September, the film marks Bengali writer-director Abir Sengupta's  Bollywood debut

Kiara Advani has signed her next feature film titled Indoo Ki Jawani. The coming-of-age comedy is directed by Bengali writer-director Abir Sengupta and jointly produced by Nikkhil Advani, Niranjan Iyengar and Ryan Stephen. Set in Ghaziabad, the film stars Kiara in the titular role of Indoo, a young girl who experiments extensively with dating apps leading to comical situations. 

Expected to go on floors in September, Indoo Ki Jawani marks Abir’s Bollywood debut. He is best known for directing the 2015 Bengali film, Jomer Raja Dilo Bor. Kiara was last seen in Abhishek Varman’s Kalank. She is presently shooting for Shershaah, a biopic on Indian war hero Vikram Batra fronted by Sidharth Malhotra. Her upcoming releases include Kabir Singh, Good News and the Netflix original film Guilty. She is also a part of Laxmmi Bomb, the Hindi remake of Muni: 2 Kanchana, starring Akshay Kumar. 

Nikkhil Advani heads the production house Emmay Entertainment. The filmmaker’s upcoming directorial venture is Batla House
