Dhanush croons for Asuran

Dhanush is currently shooting for Asuran, his upcoming film with Vetri Maaran. Now the actor has also sung a song for the film. Composed by GV Prakash Kumar, the ‘soothing, raw, peppy number’ has been named Polladha Boomi, penned by Yugabharathi. Apart from Dhanush, Ken Karunas and Tee Jay have contributed to the vocals. The composer took to Twitter share the announcement and a few pictures from the recording session. 

Produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu’s V Creations, Asuran is an adaptation of Poomani’s novel Vekkai and is expected to be a rural drama set in the 60s and 80s. Asuran will also mark the Tamil debut of Manju Warrier, who will play the female lead. The film will also feature Pasupathy, Balaji Shakthivel, and Ken Karunas in pivotal roles. Dhanush -- whose Hollywood debut The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir hit screens recently -- also has a film with Kodi-fame Durai Senthilkumar and Ratsasan-fame Ramkumar in the pipeline.
