Amazon Prime Video has released the teaser of Toofan. Directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, the film is a boxing drama starring Farhan Akhtar.

Rakeysh and Farhan had previously collaborated on the sports biopic Bhaag Milkha Bhaag (2013).

The teaser introduces Aziz Ali (Farhan), a goon from Mumbai’s Dongri who wants to become a national-level boxer. Paresh Rawal plays the coach who trains him on his journey. Stuck between his criminal environs and his future, Aziz is asked to make a choice by his love interest (Mrunal Thakur). The teaser closes with Rawal describing his protégé as ‘toofan’ (storm).

Speaking about his transformation for the film, Farhan had shared, “It was a challenge for me to adapt to a way of living that was completely contrary - with a monitored exercise regime, less physical activity and high consumption of fats, carbs, and starch. It was tough.”

Toofan is written by Anjum Rajabali with Vijay Maurya. The film will be released digitally on Amazon Prime Video on May 21.
