The teaser of the much-awaited Simbu-starrer Maanaadu was released earlier today, on the occasion of the actor's birthday.

As per the motion poster that dropped last month, Simbu plays the character of Abdul Khaaliq in the film, and this latest teaser gives a peek into the Venkat Prabhu directorial. Time seems to be a significant factor in this political sci-fi thriller, as most of the trailer has shots that are reversed. Notably, the film is named Rewind in Malayalam, Kannada, Telugu, and Hindi.

With music by Yuvan Shankar Raja and cinematography by Richard M Nathan, the film has Kalyani Priyadarshan playing the female lead. Maanaadu also stars SJ Suryah, Bharathiraja, Manoj Bharathiraja, SA Chandrasekhar, and Premgi Amaren. 

Simbu was recently seen in Susienthiran's Eeswaran. He will be soon be seen in Obeli N Krishna's Pathu Thala, alongside Gautham Karthik. The actor has also signed a new film with Gautham Vasudev Menon.

Kalyani Priyadarshan, on the other hand, is awaiting the release of Marakkar and is a part of Hridhayam, co-starring Pranav Mohanlal.
