The trailer of Anurag Basu’s caper comedy, Ludo, is out. From the soulful stirrings of Life in a... Metro (2007), Ludo finds the filmmaker in a much lighter mood, rolling the dice on four intersecting stories in Mumbai.

Abhishek Bachchan plays a child abductor fresh to the game. Rajkummar Rao’s Mithun fan is asked to lead a jailbreak. Aditya Roy Kapur is struggling to woo Sanya Malhotra, while Rohit Saraf and Pearle Maaney are a young couple on the run. Bearing down on them is the inimitable Pankaj Tripathi, as a gangster with a leg holster, and is likely after Abhishek.

Ludo is about the butterfly effect and how, despite all the chaos and crowd of the world, all our lives are inextricably connected,” the makers wrote. “Its four different stories tied together by unavoidable circumstances and coincidences far beyond our understanding, all of which makes for a crazy caper of a film.”

Anurag’s last film, Jagga Jasoos, was released in 2017.

Ludo is set to premiere on Netflix on November 12. The film is produced by T-Series and Anurag Basu Productions.
