Jawaani Jaaneman trailer out: Saif Ali Khan and Tabu bring on the laughs

CE Features

Saif Ali Khan is a boozy, carefree playboy who gets the shock of his life when his 21-year-old estranged daughter turns up at his doorsteps. Nitin Kakkar’s coming-of-middle-age comedy, Jawaani Jaaneman, takes off from a familiar starting point. It doesn’t stop there though, tossing in bouncy remixes, hit-and-miss dad jokes, and a tuckered-out Tabu to go with the beats of a lost-and-found relationship drama.

The film’s trailer was released online today. It features Saif as a 40-ish drifter in London, partying away. One night, he is accosted by a young girl (debutante Alaya Furniturewala) who claims to be his daughter. There’s some awkward back-and-forth, until Tabu turns up as a zonked-out ‘hippie’, who is identified as the mother.

Also present in the trailer are Kumud Mishra, Farida Jalal and Saif’s Sacred Games co-star Kubra Sait.

Saif and Tabu were earlier seen in films like Tu Chor Main Sipahi and Hum Saath Saath Hain.

Jawaani Jaaneman is produced by Pooja Entertainment in association with Black Knight Films and Northern Lights Films. The film is slated for release on January 31.
