Director Suri, the maker of hit films like Duniya, Jackie, Anna Bond, Kendasampige, and Tagaru, is back with Popcorn Monkey Tiger, which created a buzz just with its title. The film's teaser was released on Tuesday and it has once again grabbed eyeballs.

The featurette showing the lead actor, Dhananjay in a new avatar has exciting visual of flowing water, dripping blood, fluttering butterflies, and blinking eyes by DOP Shekar. It is well accompanied by Charan Raj's music. The term, Maaaye, hints at elements of intense action, revenge, and violence. 

The story, penned by Suri, along with Surendrananth, is set in the mafia world.

The teaser is being lauded by various filmmakers including director Ram Gopal Varma.

About the teaser Suri says, “'Maaye' in the teaser represents women, the Mother Earth, the root for every living thing. Women, who support men as a mother, sister, wife, lover, also become the reason for their fear and faith. Popcorn Monkey Tiger will give you an experience of looking into the mirror of life.”

Bankrolled by Sudhir, Popcorn Monkey Tiger comprises an ensemble star cast, including Niveditha Amrutha Iyengar, Sapthami, Monisha Nadgir, and Goutham.

The film is now in the post-production stage, and the makers are planning to release it in the last week of January or the first week of February.
