Malang trailer out: Madness and bloodlust in Mohit Suri’s latest thriller

The Kalyug and Aashiqui 2 director returns to his pet themes of violence and obsession

Four characters wigging out in Goa, bonded by bloodlust. That’s the premise of Mohit Suri’s neon-soaked thriller, Malang, whose trailer is now out.

The trailer opens with Aditya Roy Kapur’s character putting on a mask and beating people up (tricky timing, we know), confessing how much he enjoys killing. He then lands up in Goa and enjoys adventure sports with Disha Patani.

As their romance froths under the sun, the trailer takes a turn for the dark. An unhinged cop (Anil Kapoor) and a tattooed killer (Kunal Keemu) join the fray. Bottles break, bullets fly off, and dialogues like ‘Yeh raat itni jaldi khatam nahi hogi, sir’ keep you guessing. It’s all potent stuff for Mohit’s latest thesis on violence, madness and obsession.

Malang is co-produced by T-Series and Luv Ranjan Films. The film is scheduled for release on Valentine's Day (February 14). It will be clashing with Imtiaz Ali’s upcoming next.

Mohit had previously worked with Aditya in Aashiqui 2 (2013). He had directed Kunal in his debut film Kalyug (2005).
