The first trailer of Matt Reeves-Robert Pattinson's The Batman is here

CE Features

When Robert Pattinson was announced as the next Batman in director Matt Reeves' take on the caped crusader, the news received mixed response. A lot of ardent fans were not sure if the boy who played Cedric Diggory in the Harry Potter films, the teenage sensation who starred as Edward Cullen in the cult Twilight series could play the iconic troubled soul of Bruce Wayne.

However, the first trailer that dropped at DC Fandome yesterday, dispelled all such ideas about the casting choice. The moment Pattinson as Batman says, "I am... Vengeance", the masked vigilante has us hooked.

The trailer, just as Reeves promised, focuses on the detective side of Batman, which has not been explored much recently.

Pattinson takes on Colin Farrel's Penguin and Paul Dano's Riddler in this film, which also stars Zoe Kravitz as the Catwoman, Andy Serkis as Alfred, and Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon.

Social media is abuzz with appreciation for the first trailer, which ends with a clever announcement about the release date, keeping it as a vague as possible considering the global pandemic situation.
