Actor Sharwanand, who is known for playing romantic roles with ease, has transformed himself into a notorious gangster for his upcomingfilm, Ranarangam.

The film's teaser introduces him as Deva, who is a criminal to some and hero to the rest. The actor sports a stubble and displays attitude in abundance in two distinct avatars. The video presents the lifestyles of three youngsters, who are drawn into the bootlegging business in 90s coastal Andhra.

With guns firing and the sound of bottles breaking in the background, the trailer also shows us a fleeting glimpse of Kalyani Priyadarshan and Kajal Aggarwal in retro and modern avatars.

Going by the content, it looks like director Sudheer Varma has come up with something that Sharwanand has never done before.

Produced by Haarika and Hassine Creations, Ranarangam is slated for release on August 2.
