The trailer of Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari’s Panga is out. The upcoming sports drama stars Kangana Ranaut as a former kabaddi player making her comeback at 32.

Jaya Nigam (Kangana) is a railway employee and mother who once led the Indian kabaddi team. Now, she works an ordinary job and lives with her husband and son. An encounter with a team of young players rekindles her love for the sport. However, the road to the national team is no less a panga (brawl), and Jaya is assisted in her journey by a senior player (Richa Chadha) and her mother (Neena Gupta).

Panga marks Ashwiny’s third directorial outing after Nil Battey Sannata and Bareilly Ki Barfi. The film was shot in Panjani, Bhopal, Delhi and Kolkata. Punjabi actor-singer Jassi Gill plays the role of Kangana’s husband in the film. Pankaj Tripathi is also a part of the cast.

Produced by Fox Star Studios, Panga is scheduled for release on January 24.

Kangana’s upcoming films are Thalaivi and Dhaakad. The actor is also producing a film titled Aparajitha Ayodhya, based on the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid dispute.
