CE Features

The much-anticipated trailer of Aanand L Rai’s Zero was released on the occasion of Shah Rukh Khan's 53th birthday yesterday. In the trailer, we are introduced to SRK’s character, Bauua Singh, a dwarf who is on the lookout for a bride. Anushka Sharma plays the role of Aafia, a woman suffering from cerebral palsy, while Katrina Kaif appears as a famous movie star. The trailer promises an epic love story that goes from the streets of Meerut to the broadways of New York and even outerspace, as hinted by the spaceship in the end.

Zero is a very interesting and unusual film which is very close to my heart. The characters are unique yet relatable,” Shah Rukh Khan said.

Speaking about his new film, Aanand L Rai, who has delivered romantic hits like Raanjhanaa, Tanu Weds Manu and Tanu Weds Manu Returns, said, “Zero is a story of three incomplete individuals and how they handle life’s challenges, while celebrating their shortcomings. There is something in the film for everyone, as each of us are incomplete in our own ways. Working with Shah Rukh Khan has been immensely rewarding and I am happy to present the trailer of our film on his birthday.”

Made on an estimated budget of Rs 200 crores, the film features extensive VFX. It is co-produced by Gauri Khan under her banner Red Chillis Entertainment and Aanand L Rai's Colour Yellow Productions.

Besides the main cast, Zero will feature cameos by Salman Khan, Deepika Padukone, Rani Mukerji, Madhavan, Kajol, Alia Bhatt, Karisma Kapoor, Juhi Chawla and late actor Sridevi. The screenplay of the film is written by Himanshu Sharma and the music is composed by Ajay-Atul.

Zero is scheduled for release on December 21.
