The first trailer for Steven Spielberg's The Post has dropped. The movie tells the story of the Washington Post's first female publisher Kay Graham's (Meryl Streep) and its editor Ben Bradlee's (Tom Hanks) attempts to publish the Pentagon Papers, a political cover-up about the Vietnam War that spanned three decades and four US presidents.

The period film has an all-star cast, headed by Oscar-winners Hanks and Streep, also includes Alison Brie, Carrie Coon, David Cross, Bruce Greenwood, Tracy Letts, Bob Odenkirk, Sarah Paulson, Jesse Plemons, Matthew Rhys, Michael Stuhlbarg, Bradley Whitford, and Zach Woods.

The film marks the first time Oscar winners Streep, Hanks and Spielberg have collaborated on a project. Written by Liz Hannah and Josh Singer, The Post will release worldwide on January 12.
