It is rare to see female-centric films, as many movies are usually set against heavy action, fantasy or supernatural backdrops. However, Happy Journey is one such film in which seven prominent women actors play the lead roles. The film places women and their experiences at the heart of its narrative. It brings together seven prominent female characters, portrayed by Annapurnamma, Amani, Anchor Jhansi, Payal Radhakrishna, Jinisha Alishetty, Roopaa Srinivas and Sunaina.

Their individual stories converge during a memorable journey, with Prudhvi Dandamudi, Wamce and Ravi Siva Teja Paila appearing in important supporting roles. The film is produced by Balaji Gutta and Koushik Reddy under the Gutta Productions and Kamalakar Film Corporation banners. Abhiramm Naidu is making his directorial debut with the project, while Tharun Reddy serves as co-producer.

The makers of the film have now officially announced its release date. Happy Journey is slated to hit the screens on September 18. The makers unveiled a release date poster that brings the ensemble cast together against an airport backdrop in a lively and playful setting. Travel bags, an aircraft in the background and a paper-plane motif underline the film’s travel-centric theme.

The tagline, ‘Some Trips Change Plans... Some Change Lives,’ hints that the journey undertaken by the characters could leave a lasting impact on their lives. However, Happy Journey is not simply about travelling to foreign destinations. The film explores relationships, emotions, personal experiences and the bonds that take shape during a shared journey. With a diverse group of characters at its centre, the narrative aims to present different perspectives while keeping the emotional core relatable and grounded.

The technical team includes Shekar Chandra as the music director, Manikandan Subramaniyan as the cinematographer, Chota K Prasad as the editor and Brahma Kadali as the production designer.
