Actor Nani is backing a new project titled Alias Rukmini, starring Nithiin. Nani’s sister, Deepthi Ganta, is producing the film under the banner of Unanimous Productions. The makers have now begun the promotions by releasing the first song, 'Ruku Ruku Rukumini'. Murali Kanth Devasoth, known for Dhandoraa, is directing the film, which marks the Telugu debut of Aafiya Sayed, who was seen in Prem Keetanu.
Composed by Vijai Bulganin, the song introduces Krishna’s endearing love for Rukmini, a schoolteacher he admires every day while travelling to the court where he works.
Adding a humorous touch to the romantic track, Krishna even submits Rukmini’s photograph to the judge as evidence in court, only to receive a scolding in return.
Purnachary has penned the lyrics, while Anurag Kulkarni has lent his voice to the song. The visuals complement the melody, presenting Nithiin as an ordinary middle-class young man and Aafiya Sayed as the charming Rukmini.
Earlier, Nithiin’s character was introduced through the film’s title announcement glimpse, which caught attention with its distinctive humour and unconventional characterisation. Aafiya Sayed was later introduced as the female lead through a separate glimpse, portraying Rukmini as a strict schoolteacher.
Jomon T John ISC handles the cinematography, while Vijai Bulganin is composing the music. Avinash Kolla oversees the production design, and Srujana Adusumilli is in charge of editing.
Alias Rukmini explores Krishna’s life as love brings an unexpected secret to the surface, placing personal relationships and social perceptions at the centre of the narrative. The film is gearing up for a theatrical release on December 4.
With the musical promotions now underway, 'Ruku Ruku Rukumini' has drawn attention with its catchy melody and could find a place among the season’s popular tracks.
