Actor Sundeep Kishan’s recent film Sigma was released in both Tamil and Telugu. The actor is also busy with multiple projects, including Power Pet, which is currently in production. Meanwhile, his ambitious film Karikaala was launched with a pooja ceremony on Thursday. Ugandhar Muni is directing the film, while Mahidhar Reddy and Rajashekhar Annabhimoju are producing it under their Shining Pictures banner.

The makers had already announced three female leads for the film — Catherine Tresa, Sakkshi Mhadolkar and Gayatri Bharadwaj — ahead of the launch. The production team previously collaborated with director Ugandhar Muni on the successful fantasy film Shambhala, starring Aadi Saikumar. Now, they are joining hands again for the much bigger project Karikaala, which blends fantasy and folklore.

Several prominent personalities from the film industry attended the launch and wished the team success. Actor Aadi Saikumar directed the first shot, while the film’s script was handed over by Veera Brahma Chari, father of producer Rajashekhar Annabhimoju. Mounted on a massive scale, the film promises a blend of mythology, fantasy, adventure and social elements.

Speaking at the event, Sundeep Kishan expressed his excitement about the project and his collaboration with music director Sricharan Pakala.

“I am thrilled to be here today at the Karikaala pooja ceremony. Collaborating with my longtime friend Sricharan Pakala on this project makes the occasion truly special. You have already heard our theme track, and I can tell you with absolute confidence that Sricharan has created an exceptional album that is going to be a massive hit,” said Sundeep.

“The moment they narrated this epic two-part story, I was hooked. What truly inspires me is the dedication of our entire team and our producers, who have not compromised on the budget at any point and are focused entirely on delivering a spectacular period experience,” he added.

The actor also spoke about his recent choices and welcomed his co-stars on board. “After taking on various roles in recent years, I chose Karikaala and Power Pet out of pure artistic passion. I truly believe these films will stand out as the best of my career. A warm welcome to my wonderful co-stars Sakkshi, Gayatri and my dear friend Catherine Tresa,” he said.

Director Ugandhar Muni described Karikaala as a grand fantasy adventure. “Karikaala is like a Chandamama story, a beautiful fairytale. The world we are creating will be completely new, featuring kings, lions, magic, wolves, Naga Lokam and many other fascinating elements. Since this is a vast story, it will be told in two parts. We are shooting both parts simultaneously, and both are scheduled to release next year,” he said.

The three female leads — Catherine Tresa, Sakkshi Mhadolkar and Gayatri Bharadwaj — were also present at the launch and spoke about their roles in the film.
