On Sunday, coinciding with Diwali, Dulquer Salmaan and Shruti Haasan shared a poster revealing her character's name in their upcoming film Aakasamlo Oka Tara, directed by Pavan Sadineni from a Gunnam Gangaraju screenplay. Shruti plays a character named Rohini in the drama, which marks the actor's first collaboration with Dulquer in a feature film. Sharing the poster, the makers of the film wrote, describing her character, "A spark that ignites the dream in Aakasamlo Oka Tara, brought to life by the incredible firecracker performer Shruti Haasan." They also conveyed Diwali wishes to everyone.
According to a press release, Shruti's character plays an important part in the lives of the protagonists in the film. The story follows a youngster (Satvika Veeravalli), with a difficult upbringing within a conservative family. Despite maintaining academic excellence, the protagonist's family does not allow her to go for higher education before marrying her off to Krishna (Dulquer Salmaan). However, Krishna inspires her to aim for the stars. The Aakasamlo Oka Tara teaser blends these inspirational lines with the visuals of rockets, hinting at a storyline where the protagonist aspires to become an astronaut.
The film is produced by Sandeep Gunnam and Ramya Gunnam under the banner of Geetha Arts, in association with Swapna Cinema and Lightbox Media.
On the technical front, it has music by GV Prakash, who reunites with it with Dulquer after working on the 2024 Venky Atluri directorial venture Lucky Baskhar. Director Pavan Sadineni has written the story for the film alongside Vasanth Jurru, who is credited as an additional screenwriter for it. The technical team for the film also includes cinematographer Sujith Sarang, editor Praveen KL, production designer Shwetha Sabu Cyril, art director Vamsi Krishna, and costume designer Pallavi Singh.
Aakasamlo Oka Tara is slated for a November 20 release in theatres.
