There have been reports for quite some time that actor Manchu Manoj would be playing a negative role in the upcoming film starring Nandamuri Balakrishna and directed by Gopichand Malineni. Now, on the occasion of Manoj’s birthday on Wednesday, the director officially confirmed his inclusion in the project.
Currently referred to as NBK 111, the film’s shooting is progressing at a brisk pace. Taking to social media, Gopichand Malineni welcomed Manoj on board and shared a special birthday message for the actor.
“Happy Birthday dear Manchu Manoj. It’s always a delight to see your energy light up every place around you. Can’t wait to witness what’s in store with #NBK111,” wrote the director, confirming Manoj’s role in the film.
This marks the second collaboration between Balakrishna and Manoj after their earlier film Oo Kodathara Ulikki Padathara. Their reunion has already generated curiosity among fans, especially with reports suggesting that Manoj will be seen in a powerful antagonist role.
The film also marks the second collaboration between Balakrishna and Gopichand Malineni after the success of Veera Simha Reddy. Actor Nayanthara is playing the female lead in the film.
According to industry reports, the film is set against a historical and period backdrop, with Balakrishna reportedly playing dual roles. The project is being produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru under the banner Vriddhi Cinemas. The makers are planning to release the film during the Sankranthi festival season.
Music for the film is being composed by S Thaman, marking his seventh collaboration with Balakrishna. The duo has earlier worked together on successful films such as Dictator, Akhanda, Akhanda 2, Daaku Maharaaj, Veera Simha Reddy, and Bhagavanth Kesari. Their successful combination has even earned Thaman the nickname “Nandamuri Thaman” among fans.
With Manoj officially joining the cast alongside Balakrishna, and Thaman handling the music, expectations around NBK111 have increased significantly. The combination of Balakrishna’s mass appeal, Manoj’s intense screen presence, and Gopichand Malineni’s commercial storytelling has already created strong buzz around the film.
