Dacoit: A Love Story, the Telugu action-drama romantic film starring Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur, is now all set to premiere on OTT. Helmed by debut director Shaneil Deo, the film hit theatres on April 10 and opened to mixed reviews from critics.

Dacoit revolves around a man, wrongfully convicted due to a betrayal by his former partner, who sets out to track her down and seek revenge as their fates collide against the backdrop of a string of robberies.

Dacoit is all set to premiere on Prime Video on May 8. The film also stars Anurag Kashyap, Prakash Raj, Sunil, Zayn Marie Khan, Atul Kulkarni, Kamakshi Bhaskarla, Vaibhav Tatwawadi, Jhansi, and Zarina Wahab.

An excerpt from CE's review of the film reads, "The film is marketed as a love story with action, but the romantic angle loses momentum within the first half hour. The emotional bond between Hari and Saraswathi is not developed strongly enough. Their relationship is conveyed quickly through a few scenes and the song 'Rubaroo', making it difficult to feel deeply invested in them."

The film marks the Telugu debut of Anurag Kashyap. The film was initially set to star Shruti Haasan as the female lead. After she exited the project due to creative differences, Mrunal Thakur was cast in her place.

While Sesh and Shaneil have co-written the story and screenplay, Abburi Ravi has penned the dialogues and is also credited with ‘script guidance'. Yash Eshwari has penned the Hindi dialogues. As per a report on Sacnilk.com, Dacoit earned a worldwide gross of Rs 55.51 crore from its theatrical run.
