Earlier this Saturday, actor Sundeep Kishan announced that he will next star in a film with director Ugandhar Muni of Shambhala fame. The movie marks the actor's 33rd project. It brings Ugandhar Muni back together with his Shambhala producers Mahidhar Reddy and Rajashekhar Annabhimoju, who will bankroll the film under their banner Shining Pictures. It marks Shining Pictures' third production venture.
The makers describe it as a "socio-fantasy thriller" and "an even more ambitious cinematic venture" than last year's Shambhala. They also dropped a poster featuring a wolf and a lion in a stand-off, with a sword between them and a mystical battlefield in the backdrop. Sundeep Kishan described it as "an ambitious trip back into our mythology," featuring wolfs, lions, kings and swords.
Billed as a fantasy adventure with an epic grandeur, the film comes with the tagline, "Some wars never end. Some kings never die."
With the yet-untitled film, the makers plan to showcase Sundeep in a strong avatar that is not explored much by the actor in his career so far. In 2024, the actor starred in the fantasy film Ooru Peru Bhairavakona, but he has not delved much into this genre.
Planned as a film with a grand production scale, it is expected to be one of the most expensive films in Sundeep's career. It is expected that Shining Pictures will bring to the film a standard of excellence and craftsmanship that is similar to their work in Shambhala, which starred Aadi Saikumar.
The makers are yet to reveal further details about the project, including its plot, additional cast members, and technical crew. The film is in pre-production right now, and the producers plan to commence principal photography on it this August. Besides Telugu, the film is also set to release in Hindi and Tamil.
Coming back to Sundeep Kishan, the actor's upcoming projects include the films Sigma and Vibe and the Netflix series Super Subbu.
