The makers of Ustaad Bhagat Singh have advanced the film’s release by a week. The film was initially scheduled to hit theatres on March 26, but it will now arrive on March 19. According to sources, the team is confident of completing the background score on time after bringing music director S Thaman on board.
Another factor is the postponement of the pan-Indian film Toxic, starring Yash, which has reportedly been pushed back by three months. With no major release on that date, the makers decided to take advantage of the window. Although Durandhar: The Revenge is also slated for release on March 19, the team believes Ustaad Bhagat Singh mainly targets the Telugu states, and hence there won’t be significant competition.
The makers have now officially confirmed the revised release date. “The most awaited film from Tollywood, Ustaad Bhagat Singh, is all set to arrive earlier than expected. The makers have preponed the release to March 19, locking a sensational window filled with back-to-back long weekends and an extended holiday advantage for nearly two weeks,” the statement read.
The film marks the blockbuster reunion of Pawan Kalyan and director Harish Shankar, the duo who created box-office history with Gabbar Singh. They are now aiming to recreate that magic and deliver a powerful theatrical experience that fans have been eagerly waiting for.
Keeping the film’s timeline and overall vision in mind, the team has brought Thaman on board for the background score. While Devi Sri Prasad’s songs are expected to be high-energy chartbusters, Thaman will handle the background score. The decision was made after mutual discussions to ensure smooth progress and avoid any delays.
