Ram Charan-starrer Peddi, which was released on June 4, opened to mixed reviews from audiences and critics. The film also landed in controversy over the portrayal of Janhvi Kapoor’s character, drawing criticism on social media. Directed by Buchi Babu Sana and produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru under the Vriddhi Cinemas banner, Peddi has now grossed Rs 261.64 crore worldwide, according to sacnilk.com. The film collected an amount of Rs 9.70 crore in India on Day 6 across 7,554 shows.

Made on a reported budget of nearly Rs 350 crore, the film revolves around Peddi, played by Ram Charan, who strives to earn recognition for himself and his village. Ram Charan’s performance has received widespread appreciation from audiences and critics alike. The story follows Peddi’s journey through cricket, wrestling, and marathon running as he pursues his goals against all odds.

The film features a strong supporting cast that includes Kannada star Shivarajkumar, Boman Irani, Divyendu, Tarak Ponnappa, Jagapathi Babu, and several others in key roles.

One of the challenges for the film has been its performance in the Hindi market, which has not matched expectations despite extensive promotions across several cities. On Day 6, the Hindi version collected Rs 1.65 crore from 3,513 shows. The Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada dubbed versions have also recorded only modest collections, with many audiences in other states preferring to watch the Telugu version.

Despite these challenges, Peddi has grossed Rs 261.64 crore worldwide so far and will need to maintain momentum in the coming days. Overseas collections reached Rs 48 crore gross after adding around Rs 1 crore on Day 6. According to trade sources, the overseas rights were sold for a substantial amount, making the film’s performance in international markets equally important.

The overall occupancy on Day 6 stood at around 27.12 per cent, reflecting a drop of nearly 21 per cent compared to Monday. Interestingly, the Andhra Pradesh region continues to perform better than Telangana in terms of occupancy and revenue.

The coming weekdays will be crucial for Peddi, as the film looks to sustain its box-office run and move closer towards recovering its reported production costs.
