Actor Allu Arjun has praised Ram Charan's latest film Peddi, which has been running with packed cinema halls despite the controversies surrounding it. The Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo actor hailed Ram Charan's performance in the sports action drama and called it "mind-blowing".

Noting that he was "proud of his brother", Allu Arjun wrote, "A Gritty, raw performance, extraordinary body transformation, and graceful dance moves. He absolutely aced it in every aspect. Genuinely very proud of my brother. Truly deserves every bit of the applause."

He also penned his words of appreciation for Jagapathi Babu, Janhvi Kapoor and other actors and technicians involved in the project. As a concluding note, he reserved his special praise for director Buchi Babu Sana "for elevating everyone and putting Ram Charan on a high pedestal."

Thanking Allu Arjun, Buchi Babu Sana wrote that he was grateful for his encouragement, support and blessings.

Set against the backdrop of Vizianagaram in Andhra Pradesh, the story of Peddi follows a determined young man who dreams of bringing recognition to his village and its people. His journey takes him through different sporting disciplines, including cricket, wrestling, and para sports, as he battles numerous challenges to achieve his goal. With music by AR Rahman, the cast of Peddi also features Shivarajkumar, Divyenndu and Boman Irani.

Peddi had opened to Rs 135.36 crore at the box office and after four days in theatres, the film's collections had increased tremendously, minting Rs 315 worldwide.

Meanwhile, discussions and debates surrounding portrayal of Janhvi Kapoor's character in the film continue hogging the limelight with many personalities sharing their viewpoints over the last few days. The makers were criticised heavily for "objectifying" and "hypersexualising" her character Achiyamma following which the filmmaker issued an apology and assured to make necessary changes.
