Shree Nandu and Avika Gor played the lead roles in Ugly Story, which was released in theatres on May 22. Just two weeks after its theatrical release, the film is gearing up for its OTT premiere. Aha officially announced through its social media platforms that Ugly Story will begin streaming on June 5.

The film marks the directorial debut of Pranava Swaroop, who received appreciation for choosing a unique subject and presenting it in an engaging manner. Shree Nandu impressed audiences with his intense performance as an obsessive and psychologically disturbed husband, while Avika Gor delivered a strong performance as his troubled wife.

Produced jointly by JS Subhashini, Kona Lakshman, and Bekkem Venugopal, the film is making its digital debut within a short span of its theatrical release. With Ram Charan's Peddi hitting theatres and occupying a majority of screens, Ugly Story, being a small-budget film, faced challenges in sustaining its theatrical run. As a result, the makers opted for an early OTT release.

The story revolves around Neha (Avika Gor), who loses her parents at a young age and grows up under the care of her uncle (Sivaji Raja). Her cousin Karthik (Shree Nandu) develops feelings for her from childhood and becomes obsessed with the idea of marrying her. His possessiveness is so intense that he cannot tolerate Neha interacting with anyone else.

However, Neha is in love with her childhood friend Gautam (Ravi Teja Mahadasyam) and hopes to marry him. But due to her uncle's insistence, she ends up marrying Karthik. Soon after the marriage, Karthik reveals his true nature and begins exhibiting disturbing behaviour. His obsession gradually turns into psychological abuse, making Neha's life miserable. How Neha deals with the situation and whether she manages to escape from Karthik's clutches forms the crux of the story.

After a long gap, Avika Gor has received appreciation for her performance. Though she has acted in several Telugu films over the years, many of them failed to make an impact at the box office. In Ugly Story, both Avika Gor and Shree Nandu have been widely praised for their performances, and audiences who missed the film in theatres can now watch it on Aha from June 5.
