After making his acting debut with Sarkar Noukri, Akash Goparaju, son of popular playback singer Sunitha Upadrashta, is now coming up with his second film, Kotha Malupu. Starring Bhairavi Arthya as the female lead, the film is directed by Shiva Varaprasad Kesanakurthi and produced by Tati Balakrishna under the Tathastu Creations banner. Mythri Movie Distributors will release the film in theatres on June 12.

The film’s trailer was unveiled on Monday at a grand event in Hyderabad attended by senior actor Bhanu Chander, singer Sunitha Upadrashta, producer C Kalyan, actor Raghu Babu and several members of the film industry.

Set against a rural backdrop, Kotha Malupu is a romantic entertainer laced with suspense. Akash and Bhairavi Arthya play the roles of cousins (bava-maradalu), while Raghu Babu, Prudhvi Raj, Prabhavathi and others appear in key roles. The music for the film has been composed by Yashwanth.

Speaking at the event, director Shiva Varaprasad Kesanakurthi said, “We have crafted Kotha Malupu as a romantic love-suspense entertainer. Akash and Bhairavi share excellent chemistry on screen. Along with showcasing the scenic beauty of Konaseema, the film offers a compelling story packed with comedy and emotions. The movie will be released on June 12.”

Singer Sunitha expressed her happiness and confidence in the project, praising her son’s dedication and hard work. “This is Akash’s second film. Director Shiva has brought an entertaining story to audiences. It is a matter of pride that Mythri has come forward to support this film,” she said.

Akash thanked the director and producers for their support and faith in him. “I thank the director for giving me such a wonderful story. It is a great privilege to have the backing of an organization like Mythri. My heartfelt thanks to my mother Sunitha and the entire team for their support,” he said.

With romance, suspense, comedy and the picturesque backdrop of Konaseema, Kotha Malupu is gearing up to entertain audiences when it releases worldwide on June 12.
