After the woman-centric drama, Girlfriend (2025), Rashmika Mandanna is stepping into a completely world with Mysaa, a pan-India action drama. Unlike Girlfriend (2025), which focused on multiple themes, Mysaa is a high-octane action film that presents Rashmika in one of the most physically demanding roles of her career.
Directed by debutant Rawindra Pulle and produced by Unformula Films, Mysaa features Rashmika as a Gond woman, a role that required extensive physical and emotional preparation before the shoot began. Ever since the makers unveiled the film's first glimpse, the project has generated considerable buzz among audiences.
Taking her commitment to another level, Rashmika recently completed one of the film's most challenging action episodes. She shot a gruelling underwater fight sequence, spending nearly 20 hours underwater over two days. Remarkably, the actor performed the entire sequence herself without opting for a body double.
According to the makers, the sequence is being promoted as India's first female underwater fight sequence performed by an actress. Despite the technical complexity and safety challenges involved, Rashmika insisted on executing the action herself to ensure authenticity. Her dedication reportedly left the technical crew and underwater stunt team thoroughly impressed.
The underwater action block is expected to be one of the biggest highlights of Mysaa. Mounted on a grand scale, the sequence promises to offer audiences a visually spectacular experience while showcasing Rashmika in an avatar unlike anything she has attempted before.
Apart from Rashmika, the film also stars Rahul Ravindran, who directed and starred in Girlfriend (2025), and Eshwari Rao in key roles. Shreyaas P Krishna is handling the cinematography, while Jakes Bejoy is composing the music. International stunt choreographer Kecha Khamphakdee has designed the action sequences for the film.
With the shoot progressing at a brisk pace, the makers are preparing to unveil the teaser soon.
