Love Story, which was released in 2021, stars Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi in the lead roles. Directed by Sekhar Kammula, the film was released at a time when audiences were still hesitant to return to theatres after the pandemic. Despite the uncertainty, the film hit screens on September 24, 2021, and went on to become a massive blockbuster.

Known for weaving social themes into his narratives, Sekhar Kammula presented an inter-caste love story between Revanth (Naga Chaitanya) and Mounika (Sai Pallavi), two youngsters who meet in the city while chasing their dreams. The film was officially launched in 2019 and was initially planned for a 2020 release. However, the pandemic caused delays, pushing the release to 2021.

Love Story emerged as the first major hit in the post-pandemic period and also the first film to achieve big-box-office success after theatres reopened. The film reportedly grossed close to ₹100 crore worldwide.

The film was jointly produced by Narayan Das Narang and Pushkar Ram Mohan Rao. Music composed by Pawan Ch was well received by the audience. The song ‘Saranga Dariya’ became a chartbuster. Sai Pallavi’s energetic dance performance in the song was widely appreciated, and her portrayal of Mounika is considered one of the best performances of her career. For Naga Chaitanya, Love Story continued his successful run after films like Majili and Venky Mama.

Now, the makers are all set to bring the film back to theatres with a special re-release on February 14, on the occasion of Valentine’s Day.

Sharing his excitement about the re-release, Naga Chaitanya wrote on social media, “A film very close to my heart Love Story is re-releasing on February 14th. Excited for this, looking forward to celebrating in theaters with you all again.”
