Sree Vishnu’s film Vishnu Vinyasam hit theatres on Friday, and now the trailer of his upcoming film Mrithyunjay has been unveiled by none other than Jr NTR. Interestingly, the two films belong to completely different genres. While Vishnu Vinyasam is a full-fledged entertainer, Mrithyunjay is billed as an intense investigative thriller.
Directed by Hussain Sha Kiran, Mrithyunjay is produced by Sandeep Gunnam and Vinay Chilakapati under the banners of Lightbox Media and Picture Perfect Entertainment. The successful Samajavaragamana duo, Sree Vishnu and Reba Monica John, reunite for this thriller.
Following the release of a promising teaser, expectations for the film rose significantly. On Saturday, the makers dropped the trailer, and Jr NTR officially launched it, making the moment even more special for the team. Extending his support to his longtime friend Sandeep Gunnam, fondly known as Sunny, NTR also penned a heartfelt note praising his taste in cinema.
He wrote, “Sandeep Gunnam has been an integral part of my life for many years now. Over 18 years of our friendship, I have observed that Sunny has an instinct for identifying unique stories, just like his father Gunnam Gangaraju garu. I couldn’t be prouder of him as he steps into his maiden venture Mrithyunjay as a producer with one such unique script.”
NTR expressed that he was highly impressed with the trailer, noting that it carries gripping intensity and leaves the audience wanting more. As he mentioned, the trailer effectively builds intrigue right from the start. It opens with a child searching for her missing father, raising the central question — what really happened to him?
Sree Vishnu’s character takes charge of the investigation, probing a murder case linked to a man named Vikranth. The trailer showcases him relentlessly chasing a mysterious killer, adding layers of suspense and tension.
The powerful background score by Kaala Bhairava heightens the drama and amplifies the thriller elements. The makers cleverly avoid revealing the antagonist, further building curiosity around the character. Sree Vishnu once again surprises audiences with his choice of script, while Hussain Sha Kiran’s narration keeps the tension intact throughout.
Mrithyunjay is set to hit theatres on March 6. With strong technical backing — cinematography by Vidhya Sagar, music by Kaala Bhairava, editing by Sreekar Prasad, and production design by Manisha A. Dutt — the film promises to be a gripping and stylish investigative thriller.
