The teaser of Sree Vishnu-starrer Mrithyunjay was unveiled by SS Rajamouli. Taking to social media, the ace director released the teaser and said he loved the way it was crafted. “Loved the way the #Mrithyunjay teaser is crafted. Feels like he’s chasing the truth. Best wishes to Vishnu, Hussain and Sunny. Looking forward to Feb 27,” Rajamouli posted.
Later the same day, the team held a grand event where the teaser was screened for the media and fans. The investigative thriller is directed by Hussain Sha Kiran. Presented by Ramya Gunnam, the film is produced by Sandeep Gunnam and Vinay Chilakapati. After the blockbuster Samajavaragamana, Sree Vishnu and Reba Monica John have teamed up once again for this project.
The film is slated for release on February 27. As part of the promotions, following Rajamouli’s online launch, the makers officially unveiled the teaser at a grand event. Speaking on the occasion, Sree Vishnu said that Mrithyunjay is a complete thriller.
“Honest thrillers without songs, without a typical heroine track, and without comedy are very rare in Telugu cinema. Hussain has made this film with utmost sincerity. Sandeep produced this movie with the intention of delivering quality content to Telugu audiences,” said Sree Vishnu.
He further added that stories feel one way when narrated, another way while being shot, and completely different once the background score is added. “The visuals and locations in this film will look very fresh. Kaala Bhairava has created magic with his music. The film revolves around very few characters. This movie will feel new, and even my performance will appear different. After watching the trailer, the story will be understood even better,” he added.
Director Hussain Sha Kiran shared that many producers earlier asked whether the story had a love track or comedy. “But Sandeep told me, ‘Narrate the story you believe in.’ That’s when I narrated this script,” he said.
“We wanted a hero who could deliver a very subtle and settled performance, and we thought of Sree Vishnu. After listening to the story, he suggested that the villain’s role should be very powerful, because only then will the other characters stand out. I will always cherish my working experience with Sree Vishnu,” the director added.
He further said that in this film, the story itself is the hero. “My sister Manisha worked as the production designer. Sagar put in tremendous effort for this movie. Kaala Bhairava has done a fantastic job with the music, and editor Sreekar Prasad brought life to the film with his editing,” he said.
