Pavan Sadineni, who made his directorial debut with Prema Ishq Kaadhal, is now in the news after being arrested in a cheating case. According to reports, Golconda Police arrested the director following a complaint filed by an aspiring actress.
The actress reportedly alleged that Pavan Sadineni had promised to marry her but later failed to keep his word. The two were reportedly in a live-in relationship for a long time. Following the dispute, she approached the police and sought action against the director. After conducting an enquiry, Golconda Police reportedly arrested Pavan Sadineni and sent him to judicial remand.
Interestingly, the arrest reportedly took place around ten days ago, but the matter was not widely known at the time. The news came to light on Wednesday, following which several crime reporters contacted the police to confirm the development.
Pavan Sadineni is currently directing Malayalam superstar Dulquer Salmaan in Akasamlo Oka Tara. The film is backed by popular producer Ashwini Dutt’s daughter Swapna Dutt, with her banner Swapna Cinemas presenting it in association with Geetha Arts. Sandeep Gunnam and Ramya Gunnam are producing the film.
Pavan Sadineni previously directed Senapathi, which premiered directly on OTT on December 31, 2021, and received critical acclaim. The film was a remake of the Tamil movie 8 Thottakkal. He later directed the web series Daya, starring JD Chakravarthy and Eesha Rebba.
Akasamlo Oka Tara marks a major project in Pavan Sadineni’s career, with Dulquer Salmaan playing the lead and Satvika Veeravalli making her Telugu debut as the female lead. Shruti Haasan is also playing a key role, while GV Prakash Kumar is composing the music. A song from the film was recently released and received a positive response.
Recently, Pavan Sadineni also ventured into production with the film Gayapadda Simham, which stars Tharun Bhascker, JD Chakravarthy and Faria Abdullah in the lead roles.
With Pavan Sadineni reportedly in judicial remand, the latest development has raised questions about the ongoing post-production and other pending work related to Akasamlo Oka Tara.
