Audiences have been eagerly awaiting updates regarding Raaka, Allu Arjun's next film with director Atlee. The film's title, first poster, and details regarding the involvement of Hollywood technicians in it have already created much excitement among the audience. The latest speculation about it is that actor Will Smith is in advanced negotiations to star in the film and that too as an antagonist, opposite Allu Arjun. The film also stars Deepika Padukone in an important role.
Reports indicate that Will Smith has been in talks for a role in the film for a year now and that he would shoot his portions for it in its foreign production schedule. Best known for his roles in The Pursuit of Happyness, the Bad Boys franchise, and I Am Legend, among other films, Will Smith is yet to star in an Indian film in a lead role. That said, he has made a cameo appearance in a dance sequence in Student of the year 2 (2019).
Reported as an epic blend of science-fiction, fantasy, and action, Raaka is made with a massive budget. According to reports, the budget amounts to 700 crore.
It is set to mark Atlee's debut in Telugu cinema. Best known for his Tamil films with Vijay, Atlee has already made his debut in Hindi with Jawan, starring Shah Rukh Khan and Nayanthara in the lead roles. Shah Rukh expressed his appreciation for Allu Arjun and the film's poster after its producer Sun Pictures shared the title poster. At the time, Shah Rukh wrote, "The poster is intriguing and amazing just like you are. Can’t wait to see what you guys have put together. This experience will be… in Atlee’s words - Mass masss massss!!"
On the technical front, Raaka has composer Sai Abhyankkar.
